The City of Mobile Office of Supplier Diversity was created in 2015 to ensure equal business opportunities in the City of Mobile procurement process. The office oversees compliance, training, outreach, certification, and capacity building. Anchored by the Federal, State and Local Disadvantaged Business Certification Program, the City's OSD programs are designed to identify disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE), service-disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned businesses (WBE), and small businesses (SBE) according to discrete certification standards, and then to mitigate the effects of past and present social-disadvantage and economic-disadvantage by increasing the opportunity of small businesses in the procurement of goods and services by the City of Mobile.
